Comparative Perspectives on Renationalization,The ‘End of History’ reversed? Populism, and Political Communication in East Asian, European and Israeli Democracies
This workshop is hosted by Nissim Otmazgin (Hebrew University) and Verena Blechinger-Talcott (GEAS, FU) at Hebrew University. It is supported by the Center for International Cooperation HUJI-FUB Joint Seed Money Calls 2017, and co-sponsored by GEAS.
The workshop aims to analyze modes of political communication in conceptually three regional frameworks (East Asia, Western Europe, and Israel). Specifically, it is designed to investigate the rise of populism and the utilization of social media in different countries, and more broadly rethink their short-term and long-term impact on the notion of democratization.
