In our Summer Symposium 2019, Cohort VI will present their “June papers” in very short talks (max 15 mins), and PIs, faculty, as well as invited visiting fellows and guests will comment on their progress. The purpose of the symposium is to give PhD students a chance to publicly present and receive feedback on their dissertation outlines from a variety of different researchers before they enter their fieldwork phase.
After the presentations, the GEAS organises a small Graduation Ceremony in which our PhD candidates who graduated within the last year will receive their diplomas. In a following Alumni Roundtable, PhDs from all cohorts have a chance to enquire about career perspectives and pathways after graduating. To unwind from academic work and as a start of the summer break, we’ll celebrate our annual Summer Party in the garden from around 5.00 pm.
