Dec 13, 2019 | 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This workshop introduces you to the do’s and don’ts of writing a policy paper. Differing from academic writing, policy papers aim at an audience that focus on practical operationalization of international relations and suffers from tight deadlines, shifting targets and an array of players in their daily work. The instructor Dr May-Britt Stumbaum has been working for the past 20 years at the interface of academic research and policy advice, with regular tours in government organizations and research institutions alike, in Europe, the United States and the Asia-Pacific region. In this workshop she will share her experience and provide a manual on writing a policy paper for academics that envisage a career in the think tank / government world.

May-Britt Stumbaum is Einstein Visiting Fellow Project Postdoc  in the East Asian Security project (Samuels). She directed the NFG Research Group "Asian Perceptions of the EU" at the Freie Universität Berlin. She is also Team Leader for the EU funded "Asia Pacific Research and Advice Network (#APRAN)".
