Since, 2015 the East Asian Studies Institute (IAOS) at University of Zürich and Graduate School of East Asian Studies (GEAS) at Freie Universität Berlin are hosting joint dissertation and publication workshops, discussing dissertation chapters, publication drafts, as well as early-stage projects by both UZH and GEAS PhD researchers. 

The workshop is designed to give about 5 doctoral candidates from Berlin and Zürich the opportunity to discuss a dissertation chapter draft with experienced scholars and fellow PhD researchers every year. The workshop takes turns in taking place in either Berlin or Zürich.

The organizers also invite experts in Academic Publishing who will share information and experiences as editors and publishers on how and where to publish papers. This session is always open to the public.
