AS of summer 2024, doctoral students at Berlin and Brandenburg universities are to be excluded from the Deutschland semester ticket in the future. While in no other federal state were parts of the student body excluded, the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Authority (VBB) and the Berlin Transport Authority (BVG) have arbitrarily disregarded the resolutions of the Coordination Council for the Germany Semester Ticket of the Conference of Transport Ministers.

Due to the already often precarious situation of doctoral students and the associated social injustice, we ask you to publish and forward the following petition (for submission to the state governments) and the enclosed open letter via your channels.
